Distributed Leadership:  Discussion, research, policy...deployment.

About ELRILA...

Welcome to the Educational Leadership Research Institute of Louisiana ("ElRILA, pronounced el ree' la).  ELRILA is a work in progress and a forum to offer thoughts and considerations about distributed leadership as it evolves from theory to practice.  The work being done on this new perspective will offer a way for researchers and practitioners to understand the function of daily educational leadership in new and useful ways.

ELRILA will evolve as a cohort of twenty doctoral students progress through a educational leadership program offered as a collaboration between the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.  ELRILA will serve as a focal point to highlight and discuss books, articles, presentations, and dissertations involving distributed leadership.  Additionally, the site solicits input and dialogue from educators and researchers.

Our mission at ElRILA is to provide a forum to discuss quality, independent research on distributed leadership theory and practice and, based on those discussions, to lead to high quality research that will advance three broad goals:

  • Strengthen American education,

  • Reform traditional educational leadership and

  • Export innovative leadership applications throughout the international system.

Note:  ELRILA is not affiliated with either of the above universities.
